Judit was the founder of Petneházy and Partners Law Firm and also its Managing Partner from 1991. Before establishing the practice, she worked as a company consultant for a transport construction company, a member of the legal staff of the Budapest Metropolitan Municipality and a lawyer in the Ministry of Culture and then in the Ministry of Cultural Affairs before becoming a member of a legal consultancy practice. Backed by her knowledge and experience of civil society organisations, she is widely active in the field of civil society, providing assistance and know-how in legal matters affecting foreign and Hungarian organisations set up chiefly in support of socially-disadvantaged and damaged social groups and strata. Her work for civil society organisations has been recognised with the award of the Knight’s Cross of Merit of Hungary. She gained her degree from the Eötvös Loránd University of Budapest.
Before joining the law firm again, Eszter has been working as an international advisor in the private and non-profit sectors in Vienna. She also worked in the diplomatic service of Hungary, most recently serving as Ambassador to the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, accredited also to the Kingdom of Cambodia. During this mission, the focus of her activity included boosting bilateral economic relations, with a particular emphasis on designing big projects and investments. These efforts were rewarded by 7 high-level awards from the receiving country which were conferred, among others, by the President, Minister of Justice and Chief Justice of Supreme People’s Court of Vietnam. Prior to this she worked for a number of years in a European Union institution in Brussels. She holds a master’s degree in law from the Eötvös Loránd University of Budapest and a Master of European Studies from the University of Hamburg (Europa-Kolleg). She obtained a certificate on Dutch law from a comparative perspective from the Erasmus University Rotterdam. She has also received the Gold Cross of Merit of Hungary.
